Holiday Stress

Well I've just come back from a lovely holiday in Crete.  It was lovely, but it wasn't without its ups and downs.  We went with Thomas Cook and although I hate all that "Welcome Meeting" stuff, I was quite relieved that we didn't see our rep the entire holiday!  And so we arranged our own tours with an independent travel agent.

Now, I don't think I'm the only person who goes on holiday for a rest and to relax so it was a bit of a shock when a family moved in next to us and below 1 week into our 10 day break, at about 1am. Considering the time, they made enough noise to wake the dead! It's ok, they've just arrived on holiday and they're a bit excited, it's be fine tomorrow...
During the following day we decide to have a bit of a siesta in the afternoon, are new neighbours decide to go play in the playground outside our room and shout to each other between the playground and their room!
That night about 1am they came home singing loudly! Despite there being notices asking for quiet after midnight!
More shouting and arguing during the following day.
Then that night, about 1am husband is sleep shouting (yes, there was no talking, it was shouting!) whilst his wife and friend are laughing at him on the balcony.
The following day we just got back to our room at about 2pm for a spot of lunch when they also return and again he starts shouting for his wife, can't be bothered to get up and go find her!
Suffice to say I lost it at that point!
thankfully we never heard a peep from them after that!
Our trip home was fairly horrendous too! We arrived at Heraklion Airport at 740 for our 925 to find that Thomas Cook have 4 flights going out very close to each other. Let's say each flight carries 200 pax, that's 800 people arriving at the airport to check in at the same time. They split the queue into 2. We finally. get to the checkin desk at 855 to find there is a problem and we have to stand to one side while everyone else checks in. Rep asks if we are ok, several times, we say no, she does nothing! At 910 we are finally given our boarding passes with no explanation of what the problem was and then escorted to baggage X-ray (all passengers have to take their baggage to separate x-ray queue!), rushed to security and into departure lounge to find flight is almost boarded! I didn't even have time for a wee before getting on the plane!
AND then when we finally got to pick our car up it had a flat battery!

I need a holiday to recover from that!
