Life on the Road

I love exhibiting at local Mind, Body and Soul Fairs, it's a great chance for me to get out and speak to people, particularly those who wouldn't normally speak to a Hypnotherapist.  It gives me the chance to tell them exactly what we do and how we do it and to dispel a few of those myths.
So why not come along to one of the many local Mind Body and Soul Fairs that I'll be attending.  I'll be offering a free Stress test, offering Hypno-Reiki Treatments and I'll have my own brand of Meditation CD's for sale and at some shows you can join in a Chakra Dancing workshop.

Be Inspired to Change

I watched this amazing video this morning on FB about a disabled veteran who was told he would never walk unaided again.
So he gave up on life, gaining massive amounts of weight, became unable to exercise and was unhappy.
However, he managed to change his life and after a lot of searching, he found someone who was willing to help him - a Yoga Teacher!
He fell many times - but he got back up and tried again, and again, and again.
His story is an amazing inspiration to anyone who feels like giving up.
Never, ever give up.  The only person that can change your life is you.
You have the power within you to make a difference.
Watch this video and be inspired to change.

You can change your life

I was flicking through FB the other day when I came across this post which read "expecting positive thinking to cure depression is like expecting a person with diabetes to lower his blood sugar level by thinking happy thoughts"
My gut feeling to this post was horror, as a Hypnotherapist, I teach people to manage and overcome their depression by doing exactly that!
Then I started to really think about what this quote really meant and what I do exactly, and then I realised that actually, I do an awful lot more that just get depressed people to think positive thoughts.
Although positive thinking is important in helping people back onto the road to becoming "their normal", what's even more important are the changes that they make along the way.
Change is what I encourage most in my clients.  By getting them to start making small changes in their lives, we can get then get them to change their thinking, change their behaviour and ultimately change their life for the better.
Positive thinking therefore is really important, but it is just part of the jigsaw which can help you to start moving forwards to become that confident and positive person you know you can be!

Hypnosis for Childbirth

PregnancyThrough Hypnosis, we can train the mind to experience feelings such as discomfort or pain as just pressure, which is great for childbirth. Being able to take the mum-to-be into a deeper state of relaxation means that she will be more comfortable during labour.  And a calm and relaxed mum, means a calm and relaxed baby.

Through deep relaxation, using guided visualizations and positive suggestions, which is practiced with your birthing partner daily at home before the birth, we can train the subconscious mind to believe that the birth will be comfortable, easy and more enjoyable.

In many cultures, childbirth is regarded as a natural and normal event in a woman's life. The women in labour would be supported by the other women, and even children would witness this wonderful event. The birth of a new baby would be celebrated and honoured and young girls grow up believing that birth is a positive event.  As a result, they have a more positive expectation of childbirth which often occurs without pain and fear.

In our culture however, it is very much the opposite. For many generations we have been told that delivering a baby involves many hours of painful and agonizing work, to be faced with fear and trepidation. We have all heard stories from well-meaning friends and family that send shivers down our spines, and so the legacy continues. We experience pain in childbirth, in part because we very much expect to!

Self-Hypnosis for Childbirth will teach you how to go into deep relaxation instantly, and create your own natural anaesthesia whenever and wherever you need it. You will have control over your body, and be an active participant in your birthing process. As labour progresses, you relax even more, trusting in your body's natural ability to give birth with ease and comfort.  Of course, there are many variables in labour and birth that can affect the outcome, and couples need to have a positive but realistic view of hypnosis for childbirth.
  • Mother and baby B&WLess or no use of medicines means less risk of side effects for mother and baby.
  • An awake and energized mother.
  • A calm, peaceful birthing environment.
  • A higher rate of Breech and posterior babies being turned using hypnosis.
  • Fewer interventions and complications during labour.
  • Babies who sleep and feed better.
Mums-to-be who are feeling particularly anxious and stressed may want to come along for a couple of sessions earlier within their pregnancy to help them relax and de-stress  before moving on with the Hypno-Birthing sessions.
