It's National Chip Week!

There are lots of 'National Awareness days' going on this Month.
Apparently it's National Chip Week this week.  I only found that out as I was searching for UK Awareness days via a well-known search engine.
Personally, I like a Chunky Oven Chip with the skin on.  I'm sure that must mean something about me but it doesn't have that information on the website.  Yes, there really is a website dedicated to National Chip Week! Go to http://www.chips.lovepotatoes.co.uk for more information. You can even vote for your favourite chippy and take a chip quiz!
An interesting fact I picked up from the website was that "almost 676,000 tonnes of British potatoes are made into fresh chips in Great Britain every year – that’s 322 times heavier than the London Eye".  I thought that was quite interesting!
Anyway, I don't think I'm going to be eating more chips this week just because it's National Chip Week and, quite honestly, I wouldn't have even bothered with Pancakes on Tuesday, except that a family member is going away and wasn't going to use the pancake ingredients they'd bought.  So this year we will be joining the fun and having traditional lemon and sugar pancakes for tea.  I am, of course, aware that the point of pancake day was to use up some of the things in our cupboards and the fact that I will be using bought ingredients kind of defeats the point!

It's also National Nest Box Week, encouraging you to protect the birds we have and encourage more birds into your garden. All you have to do to take part is put up a next box in your garden and then sit back and watch.  For more information go to http://www.bto.org/about-birds/nnbw.
So whatever you are celebrating this week, have a good one and remember positive action, positive interaction, positive thinking and a good nights sleep are the key to happiness.
